Susana and Susanna=Free Stamps

TGIF and welcome to Susana's Custom Art & Card Design/Paper Craft Planet blog hop! 10 designers are hopping along, each creating something amazing with the SCAD Elizabeth Bell & Victoria Case stamps. 

I was lucky enough to work with a couple of different stamps and I've fallen completely IN LOVE with Elizabeth Bell.  Isn't Latte beautiful?!  I used the retired SU papers "Urban Prairie" to paper piece her dress to match the card, and colored her with my Copic markers.  I'm sending her to my BFF and coffee buddy, Rachel, who moved to Michigan.  Here she is again in green... you can tell, I couldn't "stop"...

OK, now because I couldn't stop coloring, I also did this adorable card for my niece, Alyssa.  

This stamp is called "I Heart Ya"   This little girl is colored with Copics to match the new SEI Happy Birthday papers.  I think she looks just like Alyssa.

We all Scream for Ice Cream: 12 Designers, 12 Amazing Projects, 5 Winners

Happy Sunday and welcome to the Spellbinders/Paper Craft Planet blog hop!  12 designers are hopping along, each creating something spectacular with the Spellbinders new Summer line.  I got to play with the Nested Ice Cream Cone set.  I was really excited when it came in the mail -- I had seen it at CHA and taken pictures of the cute creations in the booth showing this die off. 

My card is 5x7 with three scoops of ice cream, each cut from SEI's new Happy Day assortment pack.  I used my Scor-Pal to run diagonal lines across the cone to give it a textured look.  The birthday wishes tag was cut using the Ribbon Tags Trio set.  I used a bit of old embroidery floss to tie the tag into place.  I punched little "notches" on the ends of the card to keep the floss from slipping.  I love the finished look.

I added the flower with a dimensional and used it to act as a tab for the gift card.  

I was on a role, so I used the smallest ice cream cone dies, and the oval and scalloped nesties to make a tag for this adorable Easter Basket.  The basket is a template from Adela Rossol and I cut it out using my Silhouette.  My favorite part is the little egg cups on the inside.  They were perfect for the small bottles of bubble bath (ice cream flavors!!!).

I want my friends to see the things out there that are special, inspirational, worth some extra notice. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day -- or perhaps, "Top of the Mornin' To You!" hee hee. Love this crazy holiday. I can't resist holidays. ANY holiday. I'm Hallmark's dream girl.

I'm one of those crazy people who decorates for everything --at least a bit anyway. Sadly, I'm also a huge procrastinator, so my St. Patty's Day ideas are all still in my head, and not in hand.

Let's start with dinner -- we will be having Rob's favorite sandwich, "The Rueben".  (I did do the grocery shopping... I'm not that far behind!)  Don't think about the diet when you eat them, you'll regret it. I roast the meat and then slice it as thin as I can (which is still thickish -- I think that's the secret.)

Next fun thing that I want to make, but don't know if I'll have time...

These are from Bakerella, and are mint chocolate truffles. I think the kids would love these, and they'd be a great hit tonight at baseball practice. I'd be instantly the most popular parent in the world, and that's always a good thing. I'm not above some bribery.

This also looks divine to me...

This is from Skip to My Lou for Green Candied Popcorn. Eric would eat all of this within minutes of it hitting the table. I'd sadly watch him as I gave up sugar for Lent. 

I might just whip up green milkshakes.  That's always an easy treat that looks impressive if you're 8 years old.  I'd still get "super mom" ranking without having to really do anything.

Card of the Week & Best of the Blogosophere: March 6 - 12, 2010

This week, I was lucky enough to score some crafting time.  I played along with a couple of the Paper Craft Planet challenges... and BOY was I challenged.

First, I played along with Amy's 3d challenge....

Cool, right?! I was so happy with how it turned out.  I feel like I made a Longaberger basket...really!

Next, was my own challenge.  You're getting a sneak peak of tomorrow's sketch challenge.  

For the record, I'm doing the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace course.  I'm all about the budget right now.  I used the new Chicken Girl digi stamps from i{heart}papers.  There is nothing like the instant gratification of downloadable stamps.  Sigh.  Makes me feel a little budget guilty... but it doesn't last.  Digi stamps are cheap, resizeable and you have them forever in every size. Makes them almost perfect for anything, even photo mugs!

I printed this cute little bunny on my Neenah paper from Paper Temptress.  I colored it with my Copics (from i{heart}papers) and put it together with some older SU papers that I had in my stash.

I recently bought my first Clear & Simple Stamps -- this is the MP3 Darling set. I'm smitten :) How fun is this card? I'm playing with cutter files again.... 

I made a little box to go with it, but in typical "Susanna" fashion, I gave it away before getting a chance to photograph it. I'll try to make another one.  I also couldn't figure out whether to color the MP3 player.  I don't think it has to be colored, but in the end, I couldn't resist.

Sketch Challenge

Welcome to this week's sketch challenge. I had SO MUCH FUN making this card!

hmmmm... wonder how she would look blond....

Yep, still so cute! The stamp is "Pure Innocence" and it's called "My Balloon". I'm smitten. I going to share a couple of tips --

• Cut the Nestability first and then stamp, using the die as a mask. You can tell I did NOT do this. For this image, it's really hard to line up the 1/2 balloon with the cut line. This would have made my grass look better too.
• Pick the papers and then color. I finally wised up and did this and I'm so much happier with how "cohesive" the final card looks.

I made this card for some of my Super Nova sisters.  I am really proud to say that I worked out how to weld my letters in Adobe Illustrator so that I could die cut the sentiment.  I'm attaching the file if you guys want to play with it :)
