A Sketch Challenge and Tutorial Tuesday, March 23, 2010

This week, I'm playing along with the Paper Craft Planet Sketch Challenge sponsored by Whimsie Doodles.

Sorry that the picture is "noisy" -- I took it late at night.  I created this card using one of Whimsie Doodles digital sets “Paws I Care”. Every penny of profit from this set goes to support the SPCA. Wendy had paper pieced her sample, so I decided to try that too.  I printed the image 3 times and cut each layer out so that I could stack them with dimensionals.  The paw prints are a dingbat font called Animal Tracks, that I cut with my Silhouette.

Color Challenge with a Prize!

Today Lauretta's Digital Stamps is sponsoring our color challenge on Paper Craft Planet and I am the hostess!

Here is my card:

I made this card using a paper from My Minds Eye called "Life Is Good". I love this paper -- it's so bright and cheerful. I'm really tired of being cold with all the snow -- bright and cheerful is just what I need right now! The paper seemed like the perfect match for Lauretta's adorable Seal of Love image.

The seal is adorable, but I wanted to alter him a little and replace the heart he is balancing with a button. One of the best things about digital stamps is that they are so versatile. Here's a little video on how I altered this little guy to fit my card:

Did you see the adorable box that Adela posted yesterday? It's a freebie cutter file for your Silhouette or Cricut! I had some leftover paper, so I whipped one up to match the card. Now, I'm already for the next birthday that comes around!

Susanna, I read your posts using Google Reader in Mozilla Firefox and running a Greasemonkey script that lets me view the message, it's images AND make comments too. If you follow Chris' instructions, you should be able to see the list boxes right in your reader :)  I LOVE tips!
